This imagery focuses on introversion and how inward-thinking people respond to their surroundings. Introverts tend to seek out less external stimuli and often focus more on internal purposes, relative to extraverts. My goal is to illustrate both the thought process and feelings associated with navigating a world primarily adapted for extraverts. With these influences, my photos comprise a combination of close portraits, silhouettes, and people in positions illustrating the introverted personality. I associate the introverted space with the natural world, so I have incorporated elements of nature- trees, leaves, light, and landscapes- through double exposures. Overlaying two photographs lends more control in merging people with surroundings that may be more natural to them. Ultimately, the photographs can be relatable or, by means of color, movement, and negative space, they can invoke the solace that introverts seek.
